Homemade Fertilizer for Growing Cannabis

For a lot of people that are growing weed, there are many options for growing this. Some people want to grow this at home. If you want to grow it with homemade fertilizers, you have to look at some of the nutrients. They are nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, and most of these fertilizers have these three essential parts, but also copper, zinc, and other kinds of metals. You should keep this in mind when you make this though.

You want to have the correct composition for different stages of growth. During the vegetative stage of a plant, it does require different amounts of nitrogen, but as it flowers, you need to have more potassium, and phosphorus. You should also be mindful of the amount of fertilizer that you offer, and make sure that you don’t add too much, so that it doesn’t impact the way that it tastes.

Why good fertilizer

Fertilizer is a necessity for most cannabis plants. If you are able to use and make the fertilizer, this offers better plants and roots, which impacts the experience and the flavor.

You’ve got organic and inorganic fertilizer.

The three ways you can fertilize this include:

  • Adding the nutrients mixed with the liquid in water
  • Have a powdered nutrient and the additives within the soil.
  • The fertilizer being in a liquid, and other additives that are then sprayed directly onto the plants.

Can you make your own?

Yes, and it’s not very hard.

You need some natural foodstuffs and scraps, anything that offers potassium, nitrogen, along with phosphorus.

The best way to do this is to make a compost, usually half and half of nutrient and even carbon. The best way to make this work, is for every single bucket of material that’s green, such as tree leaves and clippings of grass, you can mix it with something brown, such as wood chips, soil, and stems too.

You can also add some dry materials including soil and clippings of grass into there, and stuff that you’ll be able to put into the compost from your local gardening retailer. You can then add grounds from coffee, scraps from the table, peels from fruit, and the like.

Build this up, and as time goes on, the microbes within this will then break all of this down, making a nutrient-rich composting soil that you can use for various plants.  You can keep the mix mostly both dried and moist, but don’t let it go too one way or another.

If it’s dry, then water it. If it’s wet, just add some more clippings, grass, and other dried out materials.

If you want to make a non-composted fertilizer, you can make it with the following solution:

  • Four tablespoons of either processed manure from poultry, blended dry fertilizer that’s organic, or bat guano directly into a jar.
  • Add some lukewarm water
  • Shake this, then let it sit at room temperature for a few days.
  • You will have a solution that may need to be diluted, but you can spray this along the plants
  • Do be careful though, because you may end up not diluting it enough, giving the plants too much food to eat

For a lot of people, making their own fertilizer is the way to go. It’s unique and different, but for a lot of people, this is the way to go with the types of plants that they want to have.

You can build the best type of plant solution with this, and craft a means for you to build an amazing type of plant mixture that works well.
