All about Cannabis tinctures

Tinctures are one of the most common ways to take cannabis, especially for those who aren’t the biggest fans of vaping and smoking. They also offer benefits that do make them different from other types of concentrates. Some people may be curious if you can make tis, and it can actually be made with alcohol too!

What are tinctures

They’re basically extracts made via binding glycerin and alcohol, so it’s basically a liquid that’s infused with cannabis that you can add to drinks and foods. They’re great for people who want to take cannabis in a more discreet manner that’s straightforward, convenient, and something you can even make at home. Some people like to just use a couple drops, and they’re getting the best results out of this as well, especially with ho quick the can be to use.

Alcohol and glycine

The biggest thing that people use with their tinctures, is either glycerin or alcohol. This is something that a lot of people consider. However, you can actually bind it better with high-poor alcohol. That’s because the cannabinoids and THC are easy to bind with. Some people don’t like this one because it is not ideal for you to use, especially if you’re going to use this at work, or if you plan to use this a lot.

Glycerin is something that’s odorless, colorless, and doesn’t have a flavor, and it’s able to be used in a variety of food products. It’s versatile, but it’s not as potent, so keep this in mind. The choice is something that’s based on the preference, and the ingredients.

However, as of note, a couple of tinctures will not get you smashed. That’s because there’s nowhere near enough ethanol to help with this.

Most of them have about 80 proof alcohol, which is something that is about the equivalent of using the vodka that you find at the store.

It can make you a bit wavy if you drink it straight, but if you’re going to make a tincture with this, it will not get you messed up.

How to make this.

This is something that’s pretty simple, and has been used for thousands of years, and it’s something that’s considered superior in terms of how to make this.

You have a lot of different options and strains, and different types of methods that help with this. You can let the tincture soak for a long time, and you can even make this in different ways.

The most common is the golden dragon tincture, which makes it gold.

Basically, to start, you’ve got to decarb the cannabis, which means that you heat it up to have the THCA become THC.  This usually takes about two hours for it to work, and you can then let this cool. Put this into a jar to seal.

After that, you want to just throw this into the freezer, and take all of the ingredients, including the alcohol to make this work. This helps protect the trichomes and makes them brittle.

Next, you want to agitate it, and then shake this around.  You want to shake this a few times for a few minutes, which will help get rid of the lipids, waxes, and the chlorophyll that was there wen frozen.

Finally, you want to filter this. Take the mason jar out, get a coffee filter, then put te tincture mixture of alcohol with the cannabis through the filter so that there aren’t any impurities. Use a pipette to load this, and then there you go, you’ve got perfect tinctures availible right at home!

Can you mix  Cannabis and Coffee

Right now, we don’t’ see much of a connection between cannabis and coffee, but there is some suggestions which state that putting these two together can make a unique experience, different from what you get when you use them in an individual sense.

You can take them at the same time, such as smoking as well while consuming coffee, but there is no solid evidence for this. However, mixing the pills that contain caffeine may be much different from mixing cannabis with coffee and teas directly, and it’s important to look at some of the other compounds.

L-theanine may be good for those who are jittery to caffeine, and it’s found in tea, and that can combat the effects that happen with coffee. It also may help with reducing the memory and cognitive issues commonly associated with THC in most cases.

Coffee as well also contains trigonelline which is basically a neuroprotective and anti-migraine and anti-tumor compound, and it may be good to mix with cannabis, as it can enhance this.

What caffeine is

Caffeine is a stimulant that’s psychoactive, and it’s in a lot of drinks.  It is also delivered in supplements, chocolate, and even some other plants. This stimulates your CNS, helping people feel more awake and alert, simply doing so through the binding of the receptors, preventing adenosine uptake, which is basically the chemical that makes you sleepy, and something that does naturally build throughout the day.

Caffeine also does increase the levels of adrenaline in the body, boosting both dopamine and norepinephrine levels as well, helping you feel happy, focused, and alert. It does hit the system quite fast, about 20 minutes or so. It can help with memory concentration, reducing neurological disorders and risk for Alzheimer’s as well. It’s also naturally neuroprotective, and it is also from the chlorogenic acid that’s found in this, a natural antioxidant as well.

Mixing cannabis with Caffeine

Right now, there isn’t much research on whether or not that’s good or bad. Some evidence says that if you mix this together, it can affect the adenosine as well, since the cannabis is working directly with the endocannabinoid system as well.

It also may improve how cognitively impaired the cannabis may make you feel, so you can get the benefits without feeling as high as well. The CBD inside cannabis may also be good as well, and it can impact the different depressive elements as well that come from some of the strains that are there. It also may not increase how much stimulant you’re getting either.

There was a study that was done in 2011 that looked at how monkeys behave when they have cannabis, usually a small one milligram dose of this. It wsa found that though the monkeys didn’t have a ton of limiting to marijuana, they were consuming a bit less cannabis as well.

There was another study that was done in 2017 that also did discover the caffeine along with the cannabis that wsa in there, increasing the levels of dopamine in there, and this is all through different mechanism. The authors decided, when they were taken together, caffeine and cannabis could create happiness and euphoria.

It can also help with the shakiness that you experience as well. Some people noticed that the locomotion sensitivity that they had when they normally drank coffee was mitigated through the use of the CBD in cannabis.

So yes, it can be something to consider, and it’s something that may be good to use, just note that there aren’t too many studies that validate these effects yet.
